Full Featured Uility Power Supply | |
| I just purchased two of these 28 volt, 21 Amp, 600 watt power supplies from mpja.com I use them to provide power to a Revolectrix Power Lab 8 Lipo Battery Charger. This charger is used for hi-current radio-controlled electric model aircraft. The nice thing is that two or more of them can be electronically paralleled. Two will provide 28 volts at 42 amps. Perfect for the PL8. A 24 volt, 25 amp version is available as well. It is about $14 less than the 28 volt version. A data sheet PDF format is available for download on their website. The supplies are very reasonably priced, and to save money, you could start with one power supply now, and get another one later. One supply still gives you plenty of power 600 watts to do some serious charging. No minimum start-up load Over-voltage, over-current, short-circuit protected, thermal protection. Parallel function Remote sense Remote control 90-130VAC, 180-260 VAC switch selectable 47-63 Hz input Output is trimmable 24 volts to 30 volts using V-ADJ pot on front of unit. Output terminals are high power studs; 1/4 ring terminals fit just fine. Much less expensive than the Mastech HY3050EX 30V 50A Bench Power Supplies, for instance. If using in the USA, make sure that the Input Voltage Multi-selector Switch is set to 115 volts. It comes with the switch set to 230. The only con about the supply is the noisy fan. But it is very effective at keeping the supply cool. Very high loads dont even make this supply warm! Recommended, and superbly suited to battery charging.
